AFTERCARE PROMISE

At Skintique, whilst we’re committed to achieving your aesthetic goals, your health and wellbeing come first.

That’s why we have a team of registered nurses and dermal and beauty therapists on hand, that will be there for you every step of the way. Before any skin treatment is performed, they’ll join you at your complimentary consultation to discuss your past and present medical history at length, to ensure the procedure is right for you.

Following the treatment, if you have any queries, they’re on call to answer your concerns.

Using a combination of Aspect Dr and Cosmedix cosmeceutical skincare, our diamond tipped microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, minimally invasive procedure. This treatment works to remove dry, dead skin build-up to reveal younger, healthier-looking skin. Microdermabrasion also encourages the production of a new layer of skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which further improves your skin’s appearance.

Microdermabrasion is suited for dull, lifeless skin in need of a good exfoliation; congested skin; dehydrated skin; pigmented skin; and, mild-to-moderate acne-prone skin.

Microdermabrasion is fantastic for cellular turnover, which leads to an improved appearance of lines and wrinkles. It also stimulates collagen, elastin and your blood circulation, for healthy, glowing skin. To further enhance its results, microdermabrasion can also be paired with a chemical peel.

Mild pinkness of the skin is the desired outcome and usually resolves within minutes to hours after your microdermabrasion. You’ll be able to go back to work or resume normal duties immediately afterwards.

Mild exfoliation of skin may occur, as well. Continuously apply moisturizer or ointment if exfoliation occurs. You may also experience a mild sunburn-like sensation for a few days. Liberal application of sunscreen is also recommended, as photosensitivity may be increased after treatment.

DermaFrac is an effective treatment that combines microdermabrasion, micro-needling, deep tissue serum infusion and LED Light Therapy. We offer a variety of DermaFrac treatment options that are designed to improve the appearance of your different skin concerns.

Microdermabrasion removes the outer layers of your dead skin cells to improve the penetration of microneedles and serums. The DermaFrac micro-needling, single use roller, consists of super fine needles that cause channels, allowing for the simultaneous infusion of active ingredients such as growth peptides, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, lightening agents and anti-acne therapy.

The final stage of the DermaFrac treatment, the LED Light Therapy, further enhances your results. Red LED Light Therapy is clinically proven to promote collagen production, dampen inflammation, and reduce redness and irritation. Blue Light Therapy targets acne bacteria, which plays a pivotal role in causing acne lesions. Yellow Light Therapy helps with collagen stimulation, leading to smoother, firmer skin.

DermaFrac can treat fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots, pigmentation, open pores, mild acne scars, dehydration and dryness, and oily, acne-prone skin.

For superior results, we recommend six treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.

Immediately after your treatment, you may notice some facial redness, although this generally disappears after 12-48 hours. You’ll probably also notice how plump and fresh your skin looks and that your skin is more even in colour!

It’s important to remember in the days following the treatment that your skin will be more sensitive. Make sure you wear a protective SPF whenever you’re outside or exposed to daylight and pay close attention to the creams and makeup that you use.

Skin needling utilises a multi-needle pen to stimulate collagen growth by causing micro punctures, inducing the skin into a wound healing response. This helps improve skin texture, scarring, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin concerns to ultimately promote healthy, fresh, youthful-looking skin. To avoid any discomfort that you might experience, we always apply a topical anaesthetic prior to your treatment.

Skin needling is excellent at boosting collagen and elastic production to bring a youthful glow to more mature skin. It’s also highly effective at reducing pigmentation, softening the appearance of broken capillaries and breaking down acne scarring and other skin scarring. Whilst it’s great at helping to regulate skin that’s more prone to breakouts, we don’t recommend having the treatment if you do have any active acne, as there’s the possibility that the breakout can spread.

For even better results, skin needling can be combined with LED Light Therapy to help induce further collagen production, followed by a soothing and hydrating peptide mask, that will encourage healing and reduce downtime.

After skin needling, you can expect your skin to be dry with some mild flaking for 1-5 days. You’ll see an improvement in your skin after the first week, however, new collagen is formed over a 90-day period and your results will only continue to improve over the next 3 – 6 months.

Generally, 3 treatments are needed and up to 6 treatments may be required for more advanced cases (all at 6 weekly intervals). However, the final results may vary from patient to patient.

Available in 20%, 30% and 40%, AHA Lactobotanical Peels contain the power of Lactic Acid to give skin a hydration boost and to visibly minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They are a powerful yet gentle and potentially superior alternative to traditional Glycolic Acid peels.

Suitable for dull, lifeless skin in need of a good exfoliation.

Lactic acid is an excellent skin renewal, which works to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles; it’s also a potent skin hydrator, thanks to its strong epidermal building action. Lactic acids exert equivalent, if not greater cell turnover, with less irritation than other forms of exfoliation. It’s potentially superior in the management of hyperpigmentation, due to its strong, suppressive effect against the formation of melanin.

You may experience some redness, dryness and skin flaking in the first two days post-peel.
The short time it takes to recover from lactic peels are what makes them one of the more popular chemical peels out there.

A multi-action, resurfacing peel suitable for all skin types. Triple Action Peels combine the retinoid-like response of Lanablue and the exfoliation action of Lactic Acid.

Suitable for all skin types, ageing and pigmentation.

Not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, or those with seafood allergies.

Helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, while Niacinamide and Canadian Willowherb help to comfort skin with hydration and antioxidant protection.

Immediately after the peel, your skin will likely be red and may look tight and shiny. The hot or stinging sensation can last for a few hours, but it’s mild and feels similar to a sunburn.

Depending on the strength of the peel, you may get flaking and peeling skin anywhere from two to four days post-treatment. Peeling will be minor and resolves in about a week. Whilst the redness is annoying, it can be easily covered with makeup.

We’re currently updating our website with more peels – stay tuned!

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works on a cellular level. It can be done either on its own, or in conjunction with a clinical treatment. The soothing, deep penetrating LED light targets deep inside the skin cells to heighten their internal functions, photo-stimulate the skin’s blood flow, and create faster healing so that your skin always looks rejuvenated. Different wavelengths of LED can be used to target various skin conditions, from acne to ageing skin. Each wavelength will penetrate a different depth and have a different effect on the skin.

LED Light Therapy can be used for a multitude of skin conditions. It can be used for skin rejuvenation, to reduce inflammation and improve healing, for example, post-laser treatment. It can also be used to treat acne, with the light stopping the formation of bacteria underneath the skin that results in acne. LED Light Therapy is highly effective at boosting collagen and elastin production and promotes blood circulation within the skin.

For optimum results, we recommend 4-8 LED Light Therapy treatments, starting at 2 sessions weekly. Once the desired result has been achieved, fortnightly/monthly maintenance is recommended.

After the treatment, you may feel slightly flushed. This is due to the light stimulating your skin’s blood circulation. This will subside within a few hours after the treatment; however, every individual is different, and it may take longer or less time to subside.

Results can be seen within as little as a few days, however, more frequent treatments will yield better results. It’s important to remember that, as LED is working on the skin at a cellular level, it can take up to 3 months to see the full results on the skin.

LED Light Therapy can be used in conjunction with microdermabrasion, Dermapen, clinical strength Aspect Dr. Peels, IPL Rejuvenation and Dermafrac.

Dermablading, which is also referred to as epidermal levelling or dermaplaning, is a safe and effective methodology. The manual exfoliation procedure uses a straight edge scalpel that has been designed with an increased awareness for safety at a 45-degree angle. It tends to remove slightly more skin than a microdermabrasion, and also has the advantage of removing any annoying facial hair. For optimum results, your therapist will also apply a custom mask to suit your skin requirements after the procedure.

Dermablading will improve the texture and tone of the skin, reduce fine facial hair, remove dead cell build up, minimise congestion and pore blockage, increase the rate of new cell turnover, stimulate the production of the skin’s own collagen and elastin and improve the absorption of both treatments and at-home use products.

Dermablading is suitable for both pregnant and lactating women and is ideal before special events to ensure a smooth, even makeup application.

Dermablading has no downtime, but you may experience redness or a slight stinging sensation immediately following the procedure. In the weeks following the treatment, your skin will be more sensitive, so make sure that you wear a protective SPF whenever you’re outside or exposed to daylight.
