IPL Skin Rejuvenation

AFTERCARE PROMISE

At Skintique, whilst we’re committed to achieving your aesthetic goals, your health and wellbeing come first.

That’s why we have a team of registered nurses and dermal and beauty therapists on hand, that will be there for you every step of the way. Before any IPL treatment is performed, they’ll join you at your complimentary consultation to discuss your past and present medical history at length, to ensure the procedure is right for you.

Following the treatment, if you have any queries, they’re on call to answer your concerns.

IPL Acne Therapy helps to treat acne by targeting the blood cells and bacteria found in lesions and clogged sebaceous glands, using heat and energy generation.

With ongoing treatment, it can help to both prevent and minimise further breakouts from occurring; IPL Acne Therapy is also highly effective and treating the pigmentation and scarring linked with acne.

There is little to no downtime after receiving an IPL Acne Therapy session. Some mild to moderate skin redness can be present for a few hours following the treatment, and dryness and flaking can occur in some cases; this may last for 3-7 days post-treatment.

Skin pigmentation can occur due to a number of factors, including sun exposure, hormones and skin trauma.

Pigmented lesions, such as age spots and freckles, can be successfully lightened or removed through IPL Pigmentation Therapy. However, with melasma (which are brown to grey-brown patches that appear on the skin, usually on the face), even in those that respond well to treatment, pigmentation may reappear with repeated exposure to the sun and/or because of hormonal factors. Whilst it can be effectively cleared, unfortunately, it cannot be cured. These treatments are non-invasive and suitable for both the face and body and will result in a clearer and more even skin tone.

At Skintique Cosmetic Clinic we treat pigmentation with IPL Pigmentation Therapy, skin needling and lightening creams. The treatment method used will be dependent on the type of pigmentation, which can be classified into epidermal (superficial), dermal (deep), and mixed categories, as well as your personal preference. At your complimentary consultation, one of our expert clinical therapists or nurses will be able to tailor a treatment program focusing on your skin priorities.

Our IPL Pigmentation Treatment uses innovative Preci-Pulse pro technology to target discolouration that’s been caused by overactive melanin sites. Pulses transmit heat into the skin, targeting dark colourings. The beams shatter the pigment, drawing the pigment to the surface, and allowing the dermis to start its natural healing process.

After an IPL Pigmentation Treatment, moiling (darkening forms) will take 3-7 days to shed. This process and be assisted with the daily use of laser recovery gel, and after 5 days, lightly exfoliating the skin.

IPL Vascular Therapy is used to diffuse redness caused by rosacea, broken capillaries (up to 2mm thickness) and blood vessels on the face, neck and décolletage, whereby a broad spectrum of visible light is emitted onto the skin.

IPL Vascular Therapy minimises redness by shutting down the surface capillaries; however, to manage the inflammation and slow the progression permanently, other treatment modes may need to be employed. If you have any questions regarding this process, one of our clinical therapists or nurses will be more than happy to advise further.

Following the treatment, you might experience some mild-to-moderate redness and selling for a few hours. Veins can blanch or darken afterwards and will continue to break down over a 3-7-day period.

You’ll see a visible reduction in redness after 1-3 treatments; however, the number of sessions required will vary depending on the underlying cause and severity of the capillaries and redness displayed.
